Ministers are scrapping Sunday restrictions for eight weeks so stores can cash in on the Olympics and Paralympics. At present, retailers over sq m are restricted to any six hours of continuous trading between 10am and 6pm on Sundays. Asda have already confirmed they will be utilising the longer hours including opening five stores around the Olympic park for 24 hours.

Tesco also confirmed that from July 22nd, they will open the majority of their Extra shops around the clock whilst opening hours at other stores are also expected to be extended.
